Anger Management: What is Your Anger Language?

Writen by Jeff Herring

So what is your anger language?

Your anger language is which emotion typically triggers your anger.

Most people believe that their anger “just happens” in one of two ways:

Either they can’t help themselves or someone or something makes them angry.

The reality is…

The reality is you can help yourself and no one makes you angry, because anger is a choice.

The reason anger is a choice is because anger is a secondary emotion. In other words, before you feel anger, you have felt something else first.

Which one comes first?

There are three primary emotions or feelings that typically come before anger. The top three are:

1. Frustration - Something has not gone your way, gotten in your way, or frustrated you in some other way.

2. Fear - You have gotten scared by something or you are extremely worried about something.

3. Hurt - You got your feelings hurt.

A little practice

Here is what you can practice - the next time you get angry, pay attention to what you were feeling before you got angry. Was it frustration, fear, or hurt?

As you get good at identifying which feeling usually comes first for you, you will be able to identify this as your primary anger language.

Whatever your primary anger language is, deal with that emotion first and then the need for the anger diminishes or disappears.

Alcohol Rehab

Writen by Steve Valentino

The effects of alcohol devastate the lives of many individuals and cause trauma to their families. Alcoholism can be treated both medically and psychologically. Drunk drivers kill many people each year in the United States. Based on historical experience, it’s evident that more than punishing the guilty is needed to solve the problem.

Alcohol rehab is a place where an individual with a drinking problem can receive help. Rehab helps the individual get over their addiction and provides them with the support necessary for a complete recovery. Alcohol rehab works for many people who have problems with alcohol abuse, but just like any other drug of abuse, the individual has to be committed to make a change for the better. Some people stop drinking and remain sober. Others have long periods of sobriety followed by bouts of relapse. With alcohol rehab, the longer a person abstains from alcohol, the more likely he or she is able to stay sober.

Alcohol rehabilitation is a multi-faceted, long-term process. There is a systematic approach to recovery from alcoholism. Alcoholism is treated in stages, and it is important to break the cycle of self-denial prior to treatment. Admittance of the problem is major step on the road to recovery.

Alcoholics must first undergo a detoxification program. This cleanses and systematically removes alcohol from the body. Nutrition and exercise during this stage helps the person get back into shape.

Alcohol abuse causes emotional damage that is not easily mended. Emotional reparation is vital in alcohol rehab. A series of one-on-one and group counseling sessions seek to address the person as whole, helping them on their road to recovery. Group sessions are important as patients get to know each other and share their experiences and thoughts. Alcohol rehab is carried out at a rehabilitation center that uses a combination of clinical and therapeutic treatments.

There are many organizations in the United States for alcohol rehab and treatment. An effective program takes three to five months to complete, though some take significantly longer. There is no miracle cure for addiction. Along with alcohol rehab, a person has to show sufficient determination to stay away from liquor.

Consider Yourself Above It All; The Sound and Fury of Mankind

Writen by Lance Winslow

Do you participate in all the bickering of mankind; all the name-calling, which goes on all the time? You need not be involved in that sort of stuff, you should be above it all life just isn’t that rough? Are you one live in fear? Just get over it sometime this year.

I can tell you all this sound and fury takes its toll on a man who is in such a hurry. Chaos and controversy that’s what they want you see; sure it is interesting, doesn’t cost much; hell it is free? You need to look beyond the mass hysteria of TV; concentrate on what is real like; peace, love, freedom and liberty.

Please wake up and turn yourself back on; you gone somewhere less pleasant and been away so long. Look I do not to sit here and preach to you; you are my fellow man I just don’t want you to be blue. Your mind is yours, it should not be for sale; don’t wait on promises there are no checks in the mail. Live your life free from want and anger; if you fail to do this your health could be in danger.

If you will dump the stress and stand back and simply look at the world and all its characters out there then you will find your self laughing at the situation, rather than taking issue with all of it. You sincerely need to consider yourself above all this sound and fury, so think on this in 2006.
