Rehab Centres

Writen by Jason Gluckman

Choosing drug addiction Rehabilitation is a positive step adopted by addicts in reclaiming their normal life. Choosing the right Rehab Center is crucial in the path to recovery.

There are many Rehabilitation Centers available in the country. But the motivation and program of each may be different. Any one center may offer different kinds of programs. If you are on the lookout for a Rehab Center you have to weigh factors like your level of need, severity of addiction, quality of care and aftercare, and also cost of care and expenses

Various types of Rehab programs exist and four of these are as follows:

Free Standing Inpatient Drug Rehabilitation Program - has effective short-term inpatient programs.

Drug Rehabilitation in hospital-based Rehabilitation Unit - suitable to those who have a severe mental or physical disability. The quality depends on the Rehab unit or the hospital.

Drug Rehabilitation in Hospital Detoxification Unit- where the most dangerous part of withdrawal from alcohol or detoxification under medical monitoring takes place. Increasingly, detox programs are being done on an outpatient basis.

Long-term Residential Drug Rehab program -These are suited to those patients, especially youth, who have a tendency to relapse after short-term treatment.

Detox is the first stage. It is the process of getting the leftover residues of the drug out of the body. It is designed to help with the physical pain of withdrawal. There are two kinds of detox programs- medical detox and physical detox. Medical detox helps to wean the patient away from the drugs. and physical detox helps in the physical recovery from the effects of residues of the drug.

The key to Rehab is to remember that drug addiction has some insidious causes, like unhappiness, hopelessness or physical pain. Rehab must be sought before the addict destroys his life step by step. The family has the responsibly to contact Rehab Centers and cooperate with Rehab programs.

In Rehab, relapse is a major problem. 75%-90% of all drug abusers will relapse within one year of release from a treatment facility. Drug relapse is heartbreaking for the family. Some Rehab Centers offer ‘peace of mind’ programs. It is long-term effective care, which treats the bio-physical cravings and underlying emotional causes of addiction. A 3-5 month program followed by a 4-6 month follow up is generally recommended for severe addiction.

Peace of mind programs readmit those patients who had left the facility after successfully completing the Rehab program, but are now facing relapse. They have to pay only for room and board.

Long-term aftercare also comes with the option of “work exchanges” for those who want long-term after-care. In this, after the patient has successfully finished his first Rehab program, he stays back in the facility for another six months as a helper for other Rehab patients in exchange for room, board, a small salary and aftercare.

There are many centers for drug Rehab. Some are genuine, but some may not look after your best interests and will be running on ulterior motives. They may make false claims and promises to dupe you. Hence, you must make wide enquiries, careful examinations and thorough checks before deciding on your Rehab Center.

Rehab provides detailed information about rehab, alcohol rehab, cardiac rehab, drug rehab and more. Rehab is the sister site of Medical Alert Bracelets.

anger control

Anger Control

Writen by Rajeev Kumar B

It is often difficulty to maintain control of your impulses when others around us make us mad. It is even more difficult when the prices in the economy increases every year, and the legal and political system is constantly putting more demands on us everyday. Most of us deal with the stressors in life as they come our way, but some of us get out of control.

Management is often the solution for treating anger; however, the person must be willing to admit their actions are causing more problems. When a person acts out violently, verbally abusive, assault and so on it not only causes problem for the person out of control, it also causes problems for others.

Often when a person has anger issues he or she will attack others whether physically or mentally. The angered person will often attack in a way that belittles, humiliates, harms, or threatens another life. This person will need to learn to control his or her anger, since everyone around him or her is in a degree of danger, and sometimes more danger than others.

Anger is the inability to restrain the impulses, desires and emotions. When a person is out of contact with his emotions, it often creates a chaotic mind. When a person is threatened, it is always good to have a degree of anger to protect. However when a person does not have control then it can lead to trouble.

Anger, sadness, joy and happy are all parts of out emotions, and when we have those emotions in control we often live a productive life. However, when we seem to a target of attack then it is more difficult for us to manage our life and anger. For example, some children go to school and each day a bully will antagonize this child pushing him beyond his or her control.

The child may hold his feelings in for a period, but eventually he or she is going to loose control, since none of us is willing to continue allowing someone to make our lives miserable. Unfortunately, when this child reaches his or her limits and returns the attack on the child, he then becomes the culprit and is often punished.

The bully too many times gets away with his behavior, and once the victim takes action he or she is often punished. The school personnel will often say why didn’t you tell me what was going on? However, the fact is the child most likely told the personnel and in my experiences, they rarely act. Now we have two children with anger problems and more people in trouble. This is only one of the many reasons why a person cultivates anger to a degree of explosion.

Each time we are angry we feel it in our body and mind. Our body will often tense when we feel angry. If you feel this tension then it is time to step back and take control.

Why am I mad? Why do I feel this way? Asking yourself questions can help you find the answers if you search your mind hard enough. Usually after a person has developed a level of anger that is out of control, they will often strike out at persons even if there is no justifiable cause.

The person could have moved something that belonged to that person and they will react by saying something like you stupid moron, why in the hell did you move my belongings? I cannot believe how stupid you are. Why do you bother breathing? This is only a few examples of a verbal attack issued by an angered person.

The person may attack physically by kicking, hitting, punching, spitting, or causing other types of harm to the person. It is important to get management in play if you have anger problems. If you cannot control your emotions then one day, someone will control them for you. Anger is good if you have it under control, but when you .loose control someone, someday will pay and that someone in many cases will be you as well as the trail of victims behind you.

hate slows your personal progress in life

Hate Slows Your Personal Progress in Life

Writen by Lance Winslow

If you have goals and dreams in life but you are filled with hate as one of your major motivators it will actually take you longer to get to your goals than if you forgive and forget the hate, but rather chock it up for experience.

If you break your stride in anger and hate toward another or a group then you will find yourself concentrating too much on that group and not enough on your goal. So, the advice, which is well known and comes to us in ancient writing, religious works and even modern movies and novels is indeed worthy of mention.

Revenge and hate are indeed innate characteristics of mankind and formidable competitors for your mind, yet if you can over come these you will be the better man and accomplish your goals sooner than later. This is not to say completely deny these emotions, but to put them away and keep them in memory for knowledge and not on the front burner of reasons for your existence or fulfillment of self.

Now then I am not suggesting you stop hating cold turkey, then you are liable for hating me later for suggesting this you see? I am not suggesting that you love everyone who screws you over or treats you bad? I am not suggesting that you completely bury all your hatchets, as you might need them if attacked. I am merely suggesting that you put hate in the trunk, indifference in the back seat and a little positive ness riding shotgun upfront with you as you new co-pilot. So consider this in 2006.
